Dragon Kids Land

For teachers

Everything here is free to use in a classroom. No account, no licence, no limit on how many children read it.

What each story page gives you

  • A full retelling and a five-minute version, so you can fit the lesson you actually have
  • The moral stated in one sentence, plus a longer explanation
  • Four to six vocabulary words with child-friendly definitions
  • Five discussion questions, at least one open-ended
  • An age band, a reading time and a scariness rating
  • Scene-by-scene breakdowns for sequencing work

Comparing versions

Folk tales exist in dozens of variants, which makes them unusually good for teaching that stories change depending on who is telling them. Each story page lists its tale type where one exists, so you can find the same story from another country.

Copyright

The tales are public domain. Our retellings, illustrations and audio are ours, and you are welcome to use them in teaching, display them on a whiteboard, and print them for a class. If you republish them online, please link back.
