About Dragon Kids Land
There are thousands of fairy tale websites and almost all of them are the same thing: a scan of a 140-year-old translation, no pictures, no audio, and no idea whether the story is right for the child in front of you.
What we do differently
Every story here is rewritten from scratch in plain modern English. Not a copied translation, not a paraphrase, but an original retelling written to be read out loud, with the rhythm and the repetition that makes a child join in.
Then we add the things a grown-up actually needs at eight in the evening: how long it takes, what age it suits, how frightening it is on a scale of nought to five, what the moral is, and four or five questions worth asking afterwards.
Who it is for
The stories are for children aged three to twelve. The website is for whoever is reading to them.
That distinction matters more than it sounds. It means we do not ask children to make accounts, we do not track anybody, and we do not try to keep a child on the site. The best outcome here is that you find a story, read it together, and close the tab.
The stories are free and always will be
No sign-up, no paywall, no trial. The tales themselves belong to everybody, and they have for centuries. Charging for access to Cinderella would be a strange thing to do.
How they are made
The stories on this site are new retellings of public-domain tales, written with AI tools. The illustrations, narration, songs (music and vocals), song videos and the dragon mascot's artwork are created with AI tools too.
