Three little pigs left home to build houses of their own. The first built his from straw and finished before lunch. The second built his from sticks and finished by teatime. The third built his from brick, and it took him days, while his brothers played in the sun and called him dull.

Then the wolf came. He huffed and he puffed and the straw house flew away. He huffed and he puffed and the stick house rolled away down the hill. Both little pigs ran to their brother's door, and he pulled them inside and bolted it.

The wolf huffed at the brick house. He puffed at the brick house. He huffed and puffed until he had to sit down on the path, and the house did not move one single brick.

So he tried the chimney. But the third little pig had a pot of water bubbling on the fire, and a puff of hot steam caught the wolf right on the nose. He slid off the roof and ran into the woods and never came back.

That night the three pigs sat by the fire together. "Will you show us how to do it properly?" asked the others. And he did.
