What this song is about
Curl Your Tail, Little Dragon is a bedtime lullaby sung to the Dragon at the end of the day. It is slow and soft on purpose: no drums, a music box and a gentle guitar, and it gets quieter as it goes, ending in humming. The words invite children to wind their bodies down one part at a time, curling up, folding their arms like wings, tucking in toes, and closing their eyes in three slow steps.
The second verse visits friends from our stories who are already asleep: a hare in the meadow, a wren in the hedge, a frog on a lily pad and a goat on the hill. The bridge is a simple breathing exercise that works for wide-awake children too: breathe in slow, breathe out slow, and blow a little cloud away. In the dragon's world that cloud floats out of the window and becomes a star. Sing it at the end of your bedtime routine, after the story and before the light goes off.
Sung and danced with the Dragon, our mascot who learns new things alongside children.
